Mt.Wada

Mt. Wada is a 1,600-meter-high mountain that was once the most challenging point for travelers on Nakasendo. However, it has now become a very comfortable hiking trail. Along the way, you can enjoy the chirping of birds, the soothing sound of streams and magnificent scenery.

You'll be charmed by beautiful wildflowers along the trail, but be cautious-- some may be poisonous!

The Buddhist statue known as Sainokawara-jizo" is enshrined at the summit of Mt.Wada. In front of the statue, numerous rocks have been placed as offerings by passing travelers.
